How do I find the best place to get dental work done?
Are you seeking a new dental healthcare provider but are unsure how to get started finding one? You can likely generate a local list of results online by performing a search on your favorite web browser, but then it can be hard to narrow down the results to select just one.
If you’re struggling, you might benefit from taking a few moments to identify and write down a few essential priorities. For example, do you need an office that is in-network with your dental insurance? Do you have children or other family members who also require care? Are there specific treatments you anticipate wanting or needing that must be offered? Answering these types of questions for yourself can help you identify a dentist who meets your individual criteria.
What level of education is required to become a dentist?
All dentists must meet certain standards to be licensed to work with patients, which typically starts with their education. Most providers start by earning a bachelor’s degree in a related field, then achieve either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from one of the 70+ schools accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA). From there, they can choose to undergo additional in-depth training to become an expert in one or more of the 12 officially recognized specialty topics.
At our Carrollton office, Dr. Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University, then graduated from dental school at Pacific University in San Francisco. Today, he has over a decade of experience providing a full menu of services to meet your unique needs conveniently under one roof.
What if I’m too anxious to visit the dentist?
You’re not alone if you’re anxious about dental visits, but if you’re overly afraid, you might avoid everything from routine checkups and cleanings to necessary repairs, which can damage your dental health.
Our team understands that many patients suffer from dental anxiety and offers multiple types of sedation to help soothe your system so you can get through your appointment successfully. For example, we can provide oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or IV medication administered directly into the bloodstream, so if you’re not a good candidate for one option, you can still benefit from another.
Are there ways to make dental care more affordable?
Dental insurance is often a simple and effective way to reduce out-of-pocket costs for different treatments and services, and our office accepts most major PPO plans. However, we can also work with other policies to help you maximize any potentially applicable benefits.
We also understand that not everyone has coverage, but we don’t want your current financial situation to keep you from receiving the top-quality dental care that you deserve. That’s why our office also offers the following options:
- Flexible financing. We happily accept flexible payment plans through Cherry, which allow you to divide your total invoice into more manageable installments over a set period if your application is approved.
- In-house memberships. We offer different membership levels for children and adults for an annual fee that includes routine preventive services, like exams, cleanings, and X-rays, plus other potential discounts without the same restrictions as traditional dental insurance, such as deductibles or claim forms.
